As General Counsel of Kareo, Brian provides ethical and sound legal advice and support to the company and its employees. With more than 20 years of practice experience, Brian is a business-oriented, practical problem solver that leverages his breadth of experience and accomplishments to help Kareo achieve its mission of helping independent medical practices be more effective so that they can focus on the important work of patient care.
Prior to joining Kareo, Brian was in-house counsel at Sage Software, Inc., a subsidiary of The Sage Group plc, a global supplier of business management software and services publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange, where he supported Sage’s global M&A activities and other enterprise-wide, cross-border strategic programs and initiatives. During his 10+ years at Sage, Brian also served as primary legal support for all aspects of Sage’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software product lines in North America, the largest by revenue.
Brian began his legal career as a corporate associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson Dunn where he advised on M&A, corporate securities and general business law matters. Brian also spent two and a half years in the Tokyo office of Morrison & Foerster as a corporate associate focusing on a broad range of domestic and international business transactions such as joint ventures, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, venture financings and securities offerings before returning home to serve as First Vice President and Senior Counsel at Countrywide Financial Corporation.
Brian received his B.A in English from UCLA and J.D. from UCLA School of Law. Brian, his wife and their son and daughter currently live in sunny Newport Beach, CA.
