Company Launches First Kareo Live Event to Focus on Billing Company Partners

This is an exciting week for Kareo.

Yesterday, we officially kicked off the first in a series of Kareo Live events: our sixth annual Billing Company Success Summit with a welcome reception for all billing company attendees. Held this year at the Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel, more than 150 Kareo medical billing companies from around the U.S. are gathering in person to learn, network, and relax (including some fun evening events) over the three-day event.

Kareo Live: Billing Success Summit celebrates strong partnerships with our valued billing company customers by offering educational sessions on billing best practices, business topics, and what’s new in Kareo products and services. This summit is part of the ongoing support and tools we provide to our 1,600 billing company partners to help their businesses (and the independent practices they serve) succeed in a changing industry and world.

Kareo planned a jam-packed morning of sessions, including a State of Kareo update by CEO Dan Rodrigues, starting at 10:45, followed by a session on Next Generation Billing & Insights.

Here are some highlights from the first two sessions of the day - Billing Company Channel Update, and Kareo Product Road Map:

Session: Billing Channel Update

In the Billing Channel Update session, Kareo executive leaders Carrie de Groot, VP, Billing Solutions and Tanya Earles, VP, Customer Success, discussed how Kareo is putting the customer first and creating a more unified experience on the platform. To do this, Kareo has added an integrated leadership team and is focused on partnership and growth. We have also invested in technology, people, and programs, and taking on a more customer-centric view than ever before.

De Groot and Earles reminded the billing company audience that Kareo team members are committed to helping maximize the growth of billing company partners by providing resources in the following four ways:
  • Business alignment – through customer success Department and account management support
  • Sales enablement – through Kareo Partner Connect program and access to a Partner Portal, which houses sales enablement enhanced pieces, valuable resources, and informative blog posts, among other resources
  • Strategic partnerships and co-branding
  • Power and differentiation  such as adding Patientlyspeaking, Kareo Patient Collect and Kareo Cloud to billing company offerings

Session: Kareo Product Road Map

In the Kareo Product Map session, Andrea Kowalski, VP of Products shared that today’s patient has increased responsibility in their health care services (including higher bills, more involvement in treatment plans and adherence, etc.), which means they now demand more from their health care practitioners.

These demands include:
  • Improved virtual care options
  • Greater convenience
  • Increased price transparency
  • Better value for care received

Kowalski explained the move of providers to a more consumer-centric practice model in recent years, which means better care outcomes: a modern, digital experience; and healthy practice economics. The key for billing companies, Kowalski noted, is to partner with a company like Kareo, which has a unified platform to provide a better experience for the billing company, their healthcare clients, and, ultimately the patients they serve.

For billing companies to support their healthcare billing clients as they move to a more consumer-centric practice, Kowalski talked about the Kareo difference, and how her product team is working on big enhancements to roll out in the coming months that will provide:
  • A modern patient experience that is digital, simplified and engaging
  • Frictionless practice operations that are automated, streamlined and have full integrity
  • Tailored clinical solutions that are workflow specific, and provide predictive proactive guidance
  • A focused 120-day journey, streamlined data intake, and in-app training and resources

The afternoon topics will focus on topics such as Reducing Biller Burnout, Using Automation to Optimize Your Business, MIPS/MACRA Essentials, Modernizing the Patient Experience and Enrollments Best Practices. After the sessions, attendees will be whisked away for a taste of the tropics at Newport Beach Dunes,  where they will enjoy a Kareo luau and take in the lovely Southern California weather.
