Kareo Validation Error: Claim Filing Indicator Code is Either Missing or Invalid

To correct the Kareo validation error, "Claim filing indicator code is either missing or one of the invalid codes codes such as 09, 10, LI for a 5010 claim":


  1. Click Settings> Insurance> Find Insurance Company in the top menu.
  2. Locate the payer and double-click on it to open the record.
  3. This opens the Edit Insurance Company window, General tab.
  4. Under the Claim Processing section, select the correct code in the Insurance Program drop-down menu. 
  5. Click Save.
