About User Roles and Security Groups
Kareo uses a role-based security model. The Kareo application is pre-configured with a default set of security groups and user roles. You can use these as they are, modify them, or create your own. When you use the New Practice Setup Wizard, you have the option to assign one of the pre-configured security groups to each user. If you choose to skip that step, creating security groups and assigning user roles is done as follows:is described below.
Security Groups: Review the pre-configured security groups; use as-is, modify or create new groups.
User Roles: Review the pre-configured user roles; use as-is or create new user roles.
User Accounts: Add users and configure settings for each user.
Security Policy Options: Configure your company's security policy such as password and account lockout policies.
Note: Kareo is a permission-driven application. Your permission level is determined by your Kareo application administrator. If you don't have access to a specific task or function described within these help topics, please contact the person in your office who is the Kareo application administrator.
