Kareo has been growing fast, and we’re adding more team members to help you, both in Customer Support and in our software development teams. Here are some of our latest additions:
Wei was working on EMRs before coming to Kareo and found the industry to be “very interesting, especially the potential growth that’s available.”
Wei loves comedy shows, especially the Improv at the Spectrum. She also enjoys hiking at Peter’s Canyon, going to the beach and spending time with her sisters.
Before joining Kareo as a Customer Support Superstar, Lizet Guerrero was a Reimbursement Specialist III for over three years at CPM (Clinical Practice Management), a medical billing service that specializes in physical therapy.
Lizet likes the staff and atmosphere at Kareo and has never felt “such peacefulness at a work place before.”
She received her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Santa Ana College and is going back to California State University, Fullerton to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree. When she’s not assisting customers at Kareo, Lizet enjoys playing tennis, going to the beach and to the park with her kids.
Katherine (Kathy) Huang joins Kareo as a member of the Support Team. Prior to her time at Kareo, Kathy spent three years as the Office Manager/Billing Specialist at an Adoption and Mental Health Clinic.
What interested Kathy the most about Kareo is the fact that “Kareo actually cares about their customers, staff and partners. To Kareo you are a person first and foremost, which means they treat you like a person, not a number.” Additionally, “There are a lot of growth opportunities at Kareo.”
She enjoys the working environment at Kareo and likes the fact that it’s a “challenging job where nothing is ever really the same.”
Kathy received her BS in Social Ecology from UCI and likes to play tennis, catch up with friends and try new restaurants in her free time. She’s “excited to be starting a new career at Kareo!”
Jason Leu is Kareo’s new Director of Product Management. Prior to coming to Kareo, Jason was the Director of Product Management at an early stage ecommerce startup, as well as at a SaaS-based fantasy gaming startup (Fastpoint Games). He has 10 years of experience in the technology space, with the past five years focused on gaming.
According to Jason, the “healthcare IT space is exploding and the lack of innovation in the industry (relative to other industries) is jaw-dropping.” He believes being at Kareo provides “an amazing opportunity to set the standard for the best-of-breed software for healthcare providers.”
Jason graduated from UCLA with a degree in Psychology. He’s a self-proclaimed “tech geek” so in his free time he’s always getting up to date on the latest and greatest tech news. Aside from that, you can find Jason at the gym or traveling the world.
David Liu, one of our new Customer Support Superstars, comes to Kareo with three years of customer service experience. He likes the “overall philosophy of the company as well as the corporate culture” at Kareo and enjoys the “chance to work in a completely different industry that’s still growing and changing every day.”
David received his BA in Social Ecology from UCI and spends his free time watching movies, listening to music and eating great food!
Jon O’Rourke was an EMR Business Development Manager at MemorialCare Health System before coming to Kareo as the Strategic Channel Manager. With four years of experience in HIT, we’re happy to have him on board!
What interested Jon about Kareo is “the growth and affordability of the product in an overpriced and under-delivering product sector.” He likes that the corporate culture at Kareo is coupled with a “strong strategic plan.”
Jon graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Business Administration and is currently enrolled in an MBA program. When he’s not spending time with his family, Jon enjoys playing tennis, soccer and golf.
When asked what interested him most about Kareo, Puckett’s response was that “it sounds as good as TiVo.”
He adds, “after looking at the Kareo web site, I wanted to sign up.”
David received his BS in Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma. Between working as the Data Center Engineer, his kids, soccer and swimming, David said he doesn’t have much free time!
Prior to coming to Kareo, Joanne Tran worked at PriceSmart, Inc. and has over six years of support experience. She likes medical billing because she says “it’s really great to understand how health insurance works and how dynamic it is.”
One of her favorite things about Kareo so far is that “everyone who has been here for six years or six months has been so kind and inviting!”
Joanne graduated with her BS in Marketing from San Diego State University and likes to cook, read and play with her dog Violet in her free time. When she’s not doing that, she likes to watch movies and soak in the sun! Even though she grew up in New Hampshire, she’s a Californian at heart and moved to Orange County three years ago.
What interested Sonia Vazquez about Kareo is the “rapid growth of the company as well as the relaxed and positive environment.” Before joining at Kareo as a Customer Support Superstar, Sonia was a Customer Care Representative at Murad Skincare Inc.
Sonia went to school at Computer Career Connection and enjoys cooking, laughing and camping with family and friends in her spare time. A secret passion you wouldn’t guess about her? She is a balloon decorator! She doesn’t do animal figures but says she can make you “one heck of an arch!”
