Software-as-a-Service) and helping doctors get paid by taking today’s complex healthcare system and making it remarkably easy. This allows doctors to spend less time worrying about their business and more time caring for patients and saving lives. Basically, Kareo is at the center of the storm, which is at the center of Obama’s policy agenda. Healthcare. A $2.4 trillion (yes, that’s with a “T”) industry, representing 17% of the U.S. GDP. Technology is coming to transform and revolutionize this industry and Kareo is positioned to carry the torch for the 500,000 physicians who practice in small medical offices and represent the backbone of the American healthcare system.

That’s the high level. The details go like this… Kareo, originally founded in 2004, doubled customers and revenue in 2010 and 2011, and we’re on track to double again in 2012! We’ve done this by building a remarkable product that solves real customer problems, acquiring customers through cost-effective online marketing channels, and showing complete dedication to our customers. Because of our rapid growth, we’re doubling down on our efforts to massively disrupt the healthcare revenue space, and we’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to help us do so. You’ll report to our VP of Product Development and be a key member of a talented group of software product development professionals. Here’s what the position looks like:

We’re looking to you to innovate and solve real problems for our users, helping them do things faster and better. Suggestions and ideas will bombard you from everywhere, but you’ll sift through the noise to determine what is best for our customers… whether they know it or not. Working closely with an interaction designer to design working prototypes, you’ll then conduct user tests with actual customers using these prototypes. Based on the feedback you receive, you’ll rapidly iterate on these prototypes until our customers love them. You’ll then supplement these working models with clear, informative requirements, leaving no detail unattended as you help our development team bring your ideas to life. But it’s not all about working heads-down on new features; you’ll also be keeping the company informed of the latest trends in healthcare IT and the larger technology space, and you’ll be a product owner that represents Kareo to our customers and partners on multiple fronts.

This is a key position for Kareo… but make no mistake; you’ll be rolling up your sleeves. Yes, we are embarking on a substantial growth ramp, but we are still a small company. That means expectations are high. You’ll need to show us a proven track record of being able to ramp up quickly on a variety of subject matters, eventually taking over and becoming the thought leader in those spaces. Experience in defining and documenting product requirements for a technical team is a must. Prior healthcare experience and user interface design skills are a plus, but not a requirement. But here come the essential ingredients. We’re looking for an incredibly smart, analytical, and results-oriented product person. You know how to identify an opportunity, design a solution, gain consensus around that solution, and inspire people to take action.
